Prof Serepa-Dlamini is Associate Professor and Head of Department: Biotechnology and Food Technology, University of Johannesburg (UJ). She earned her PhD from the University of the Witwatersrand and gained research experience at the same institution and CBTBR-NHLS. She excelled in the Falling Walls Lab competition, leading her to present in Berlin, Germany. She joined UJ in 2016 as a Lecturer, her promotions in 2020 and 2022 recognized her research growth, dedication, and commitment to transformation. She founded the Bacterial Genomics and Biotechnology research group and has successfully supervised over 15 MSc and PhD candidates to completion. She serves on various Faculty of Science committees, within UJ.
