HERS-SA is a Voluntary Association and according to its Constitution, is required to have “Members” serving on the HERS-SA Board who monitor, support and advise the Association to help it meet its goals. Members convene at an Annual General Meeting(AGM).

Melanie Sadeck, is the Head of the Department of Teacher Professional Development in the Faculty of Education at the Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT). She manages the formal in-service Teacher Professional Development (TPD) Programmes and coordinates work integrated learning, service learning and community engagement activities in the Faculty.
