Prof Ylva Rodny-Gumede is the Head of the Division for Global Engagement and a Professor in the School of Communication at the University of Johannesburg. She has held fellowships from several national and international universities and is actively involved in research and teaching and learning development at institutional, national and international level. She holds a PhD from the School of Oriental and African Studies, London University, an MA degree in Politics from the University of Witwatersrand and an MA in Journalism from Cardiff University, and a diploma in Marketing and Business Communication from the Institute of International Education in Stockholm.
